Accessibility

Please help us improve with this one minute survey (opens in a new tab)

The University of Oxford is committed to providing websites that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of Great Writers Inspire and in doing so meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidance (WCAG) regulations.

Content with Closed Captions and transcripts

The Educational Media team apologise that the audio/video players on Great Writers Inspire do not yet show Closed Captions where available. Much of the video content on this site is also available on the main University of Oxford Podcasts site, which does show Closed Captions where available.

Below is listed some Great Writers Inspire content where captions or a transcript has been generated. Use the links to open the content on the University of Oxford Podcasts site:

To search for more captioned content you can use the Captioned Episodes Search on the University of Oxford Podcasts site.

The captions for a podcast episode on the University Podcasts site can be downloaded as a transcript from the Download Media section on each episode page.

Code compliance

This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
